Brandon Comella, Youth Ministries Director
I grew up in Sherwood, Oregon before coming to Spokane and attending Whitworth University. Shortly after graduating I married Anna, who I met at Whitworth, and we bought a house in Millwood just down the street from the church. It has been wonderful to work at a church in the community I live in. My background with Young Life and a traditional church setting helps me as we shape a church based ministry, based on a Young Life model. I serve on the Truancy Board for West Valley School District, serve as a coach for the West Valley High School golf team, and head up faith based initiatives as part of the West Valley District Community Engagement.
Micah Sanders, Staff Associate & Young Life/Church Partner
I grew up in Salem, Oregon, in a stable family of four. My upbringing was marked sports, church, and my diverse and impoverished middle school and high school. After choosing to attend Whitworth University, I volunteered and interned with Millwood Community Presbyterian over the course of 3 years. At Whitworth, I studied Theology, Ministry, Communication, Leadership, and a sprinkle of Business. It was during my time at Whitworth that I developed a sense of calling around ministry. Since graduating, I have worked part-time for both Young Life and Millwood Community Presbyterian since January of 2018. This community has welcomed and supported me in so many encouraging ways, and I am excited for what is to come working with students in the church and the West Valley community! Feel free to ask me more about what I do, to meet for coffee, or whatever else! I love being able to get to know people in this community.
Rocky Abbott, Children’s Ministry Director
I was born and raised in California where I graduated from Reedley college and studied Christian Education at Fresno Pacific College in the degree completion program. I have been working with children since 1987, first in daycare centers, then as a teacher at Clovis Christian school. We moved to Idaho in 2005 where I opened “Rocky’s House”, a Christian preschool through 5th grade home school program. The program was very structured and offered a variety of services that not only taught children how to read and write, but more importantly, who Jesus Christ is and what it means to know and love Him. I came to Millwood Community Church in November of 2018 and feel so blessed to be working with the children and teaching them about our Lord and Savior.
