At Millwood, we have two worship styles. During the summer months and periodically through the year we blend them into one service and during the school year we usually have two worship services that reflect the different traditions. Here's a description:
9:30 a.m. Celebration Service
Our early service at 9:30 a.m. is more contemporary and casual in style. The music includes guitars and drums and the order of the service is less formal, although we do share together in the Lord's Prayer every week and communion on the first Sundays of the month. We often have children's messages as part of the service. The kids up through grade five are encouraged to participate during the first part of the service and then they are dismissed for an age appropriate lesson. Kids are also welcome to stay in worship.
11:00 a.m. Traditional Service
Our later service at 11:00 am is more traditional in style but also friendly and inviting. The music in this service features the grand sounds of our recently renovated pipe organ and our 30 member choir. The order of service includes the best of our Presbyterian heritage including the great hymns of the church. Children are welcome in the service but they are also encouraged to attend Sunday School classes for the whole 11 a.m. hour.
