Millwood Mobile Food Bank
A Mobile Food Bank
Second Friday of Every Month
Second Harvest Inland Northwest, West Valley School District and West Valley businesses are collaborating to meet the growing needs of low-income families by providing a major distribution of food on the second Friday of each month since 2009.
Organizers provide food for over 200 households at the events, which are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Millwood Presbyterian Church, 3223 North Marguerite.
Second Harvest brings its mobile food bank truck, filled with nutritious produce and fresh foods, and 25 community volunteers staff the long line of 10 tables used for distribution. The food is for low income families and those in need of food assistance.
No appointment or documentation is necessary, but participants must be present in order to receive food. They are encouraged to bring a box.
Second Harvest uses the mobile food bank to supplement the free food distribution already available in the area, and to fill gaps where certain low-income community members may be underserved.
Do date we have distribute over 550,000 pounds of food at the Millwood Mobile Food Bank.
