Where the needs of young people
and the resources of West Valley intersect.
The Facility: The Crossing is a 1500 square foot multi-purpose room that includes a pool table and foosball table, state of the art multi-media, coffee bar & espresso machine, and bathroom facilities. Its primary use is for youth activities and events although it is open to other uses by organizations that share our and mission and vision for youth. This includes services to families.
In the fall of 2006, Millwood Presbyterian Church, Spokane Valley Young Life, Hutton Settlement, the West Valley School District, and many others joined forces to create a community center for young people in the West Valley of Spokane. If you have not dropped into The Crossing to check out this amazing facility, you are missing out. After many months of hard work and close to $100,000 in donations, this place is full of spirit and ready to be used. The Crossing is used by the Millwood Presbyterian youth, Spokane Valley Young Life, Hutton Settlement, the West Valley School District, and many others as we are all joined together as a community for helping young people in the West Valley of Spokane. The Youth Center programs include after-school tutoring and mentoring, church programs, community movie nights, coffee house events, youth art studio displays, and service programs run by the church, Hutton Settlement, Young Life and the school district. It is also available for all community groups that share our vision of preparing young people for a successful future.
The Crossing Drop-In is open during the summer: Tuesday-Thursday, from 1-5 pm. This fall the hours are 3-5pm Tuesday and Wednesday. This is open to any Jr. High and Sr. High aged youth.
