Mission Minimize

Mission is not just a category of things the church does. It is a word that really describes who we are and what we are about as a community. There are some of our activities that express this identity in a special way that are listed below. They are part of what we see as the work of God in the world, redeeming all things.

Financial Stewardship:

At MCPC we are committed to a life stewardship. As a church we give roughly 10% of our annual total income toward mission programs and projects. These include regular donations to the PC(USA), Union Gospel Mission, Ann Ogden Hall, Young Life, Crosswalk, Liberty Park Child Development Center, Cup of Cool Water ministry to the homeless, and the Valley Community Resource Center.

Treat of the Month:
This ministry includes a monthly sale of cookies & crafts with the proceeds going to support a child from India and an annual college scholarship.

Millwood Community Youth Center - The Crossing
This project is a partnership with Hutton Settlement, the West Valley School District, and Spokane Valley Young Life. It is a 1500 square foot multi-purpose facility in Millwood dedicated to creating successful futures for the youth of West Valley. When the center opens in February of 2007 it will include afterschool drop-in for youth, tutoring, Wyldlife gatherings for Junior High, vocational and parental training events, and Friday night movie nights.

Camp White:
Camp White is our facility for summer camping and outreach ministries.

Rummage Sale and Craft Sale:
Every year we have two big sales that go to support mission and ministry.

Alpha Course:
A big part of our mission is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. Alpha is a non-threatening, welcoming environment to explore this good news.

Millwood Farmer's Market & Community Gardens
Stay tuned for more information on these community initiatives for the summer of 2007.

Young Adult Ministry House
MCPC owns a home in Millwood that is dedicated to young adult men who are interested in a season of ministry in the community and spiritual formation.
