Program Descriptions

Childcare
Children six weeks through thirty-six months are welcome in the church nursery where they will be well cared for by our nursery staff and volunteers.

Noah’s Park
For children 3-5 years of age, this class begins at about 9:45. The children learn important Bible lessons in a fun and loving environment.  Kids will attend worship at 9:30 and will be invited to Noah’s Park in the early part of the service.

We Believe Workshop for grades 1-5th.
We Believe is a workshop rotation curriculum published by the PCUSA.  Each year will study five 6-week units.  These are in-depth units in which your child will gain a deep and solid understanding of the unit.  Each week the lesson is designed around a different learning approach:  cooking, drama/storytelling, art, computer, games and puzzles, audiovisual, and music/worship workshops.  The units chosen for the 2009-2010 progam are the Road to Emmaus; Advent – The Shepherds; David as a boy; The last supper; and Jonah.

Wee Believe for ages 3-5 yrs. old.
This class builds foundations to help young children learn about God’s love for them.  Most Bible stories are explored for two sessions, giving children an opportunity to learn from repetition.  The curriculum reflects Presbyterian theology, and includes singing hymns and contemporary children’s worship music.

Lighthouse Workshop Rotation for grades K-5th.

This workshop rotation class is similar to our 9:30 workshop class.  This class follows Potters Publishing curriculum.  The units for the 2009-2010 program are from the “Faithful Believers” theme and are:  Daniel – A Believer in Babylon; Jonah – A Believer in Babylon ; Esther – A Believer in Persia; Jesus and Discipleship – Calling all Believers; and Paul – Believers, You’ve Got Mail.

TeamKID
TeamKID is a club for kids in grades 1-5. We are changing our format this year to having a service-oriented club each week which will include some field trips.

Day Camps
Day Camps are held at Camp White for children 1st - 3rd grade and 4th - 5th grade where they can swim, play games, learn Bible truths, make crafts and hike.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is held in the mornings for a full week each June.  Four-year-olds through 6th graders are welcome. We have a fun and different educational theme each year. See our VBS brochure for more information (available in May of each year)
